Our Story

Restaurant Ouliya
The restaurant is next door to the Riad Ouliya. It was inspired from the kayed Bezari’s family who lived in the Riad about six centuries ago. The main dishes are the typical Fez specialties. The four different wives also inspired us to create a menu as it was served around 1400.

Our Chefs are well known in the culinary industry in Morocco. They do offer cooking classes to other Chefs nationally and Internationally. They also hold beginners classes for some of our guests to learn a few basic dishes to make. We also bring Chefs from the southern part of Morocco to improve our dishes and to add new specialties.

What Customers Say
We have been there in October 2022, and we had dinner for two in the terrace.
You can choose from different menus, each one composed by a starter, a main course, and a dessert (prices range from 140 to 180 dirhams per person).
Not only the food (we took a pastilla and beef with prunes) and the atmosphere were amazing but the staff make you feel welcomed and like at home.
A special mention to Adam, who has been really nice and professional with us, answering all our questions and explaining the courses.

We had a fantastic experience doing a private cooking class with Layla and her family. We organised the class though our airbnb attached to the Riad Ouliya. We were picked up and walked to the restaurant which is helpful considering the tricky streets of the Fes Medina. We were then greeted by Layla who gave us tea and cookies. We were then taught how to make a traditional chicken tagine and a lamb tagine as well as a vegetable bread and 2x Moroccan salads. The experience of learning how to cook the food was great and the food itself was spectacular! I can not recommend it enough! Thank you Layla and the Restaurant Ouliya family

We‘ve visited this restaurant due to the good reviews and we were not disappointed! The restaurant is located in a building full of beautiful mosaic in the heart of the old town of Fés. On top, there is a beautiful terrace with a great view over the city center. Our waiter Adam was very nice and took good care of us. They even offered us to pick us up from the square next to the street and guided us to the restaurant. The food was excellent with fresh ingredients and the platters had a very reasonable price. I totally recommend visiting this great place.
